When the diaphragm moves up and and down, it massages the vagus nerve which activates the relaxation response!

I encourage you to take a moment and notice your inhale and exhale. What's happening in your torso? What do you feel in your nose?

Apnea is a pause in your inhalation/exhalation cycle.
The author noticed that she and others around her hold their breath while checking email and working on the computer... And she points out the possible negative impact of "email apnea."
