What do I want?

If you've asked yourself, "What do I want?" and you're not sure - you can use this process to help you identify what you Really want.

If you think you know what you want... you can use the What Do I Want? Process to help you clarify some of the details.

It's one of the MOST USEFUL things that you can do and it will help you activate the Law of Attraction and lead a more purposeful life.

Having experiences that we don't want is helpful because...

... When we know what we don't want, we can better identify what we do want...

My life changed dramatically, when I realized that it is normal and useful for all humans - including me - to have experiences I don't want...

In fact, I've made this process the first manifestation step that I teach my clients.

Every day life happens. Some things feel good and some don't.

When I realized that I could manifest something better... if I identified what felt bad and began to focus on what I really wanted... I turned my life around...

Now I use this technique whenever I notice I feel "bad."

The Process - What do I want?

There are two steps...
  1. Make a list of what you don't want then from that list...
  2. Make a list of what you do want.

It's that simple!

I have found over and over... every time I do this... that my vibration shifts and I feel more relaxed-and-at-ease, centered, and purposeful after I've done it.

So, let me tell you one way you can do it... and then I'll share with you a little more information about how this works and answer one of the most common questions people have about this technique.

Here are the steps.

  1. Get out a clean sheet of scrap paper - you will not keep this after you use it.
  2. Write at the top - "What I don't want"
  3. Then make a list of everything you don't want. You can focus it on one area of your life like your stress level and health, what just happened that day, or you can use it for your whole life - this just takes longer.

    For example...

I don't want to feel stressed anymore.

I don't want my eye to twitch.

I don't want to feel so busy that I don't have time to take care of myself.

You could write 20 more things...

  4. Once you've written everything down that you don't want then get another clean sheet of paper out. This one you're going to keep.
  5. Write at the top - "What I do want"
  6. Take your list of what you don't want and turn each item into what you do want. The way I do this is I ask myself, "If I don't want_______________, What do I want?"

And do this for every item on your list.

Some people just turn their "don't wants" around and say the opposite... but usually if you really ask yourself the question your answer is not the exact opposite.

Let yourself really ask the question and see what you REALLY want.

    For example...

If I don't want to feel stressed anymore... What do I want?

I want to feel at ease and calm and centered and present easily and effortlessly - in every moment.

If I don't want my eye to twitch.... What do I want?

I want to have gotten enough exercise and eaten well enough that my body feels well tended, nourished, and relaxed and with no extra tension flowing through it.

If I don't want to feel so busy that I don't have time to take care of myself... What I you want?

I want a balanced life. I want to enjoy purposeful work and to intentionally take time to tend myself, re-center, and practice Presence - throughout my day - no matter what I'm doing.

  7. Tear up and recycle or throw away your list of what you don't want.
  8. After you have your list of what you do want... you can do two things with it...

You can read it everyday and remind yourself about it. Or you can turn your wants into affirmations and then read them everyday.

I encourage you to try this technique now! See what comes up.

When you first answer the question - What Do I Want? - and bring your awareness to new possibilities you can shift your vibration and begin the process of attracting it to you.

However, there does come a time when you need to change from focusing on wanting it to affirming that you are experiencing it now.

If you are stuck in the longing - you will just get more longing. At some point, you have to choose to truly imagine experiencing it - as if it's happening now.

That point is often a turning point.

These days, I check in with myself a few times a day. If I'm feeling "bad" I notice what I've been thinking about or doing. And I use this process in a kind of "quicky" way. I just ask myself out loud... If I don't want - what ever it is I've thinking about or that just happened... what do I want?

It's amazing and wonderful... I can feel better in minutes! And life just gets better and better.

And just so you know - I'm really not a Pollyanna at all! I'm telling you the truth as I experience it.

It's not that I feel great every moment of my life. But when I don't, I can turn it around pretty quickly. And I am grateful.

The Question Many People who know about the Law of Attraction Ask...

How come you're asking us to focus on what we don't want? I thought we didn't want to do that... I thought we wanted to just focus on what we do want.

So - here's my answer...

If something that you don't want has manifested in your life... in other words - you are experiencing it, then you have unconsciously vibrated in alignment with it.

In identifying what you don't want based on your life experience... and then using that to shift your awareness to what you do want... you begin a process of changing your vibration from the core of your being.

If you don't identify what you have unconsciously manifested... there is a strong likelihood that you will continue to unconsciously manifest it.
